Draw/Team: Somerville Lake 2018

March 10, 2018

Howdy again yโ€™all!ย  Well we had a really great T this month. Not many boats and fishermen. 3 boats and 6 guys chucking lures. That was good for us as we were all assured of a winning place! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Everyone caught fish and as my partner Scott said, this was the best day ever on Lake Sommerville. He has never caught so many fish on this lake.

1st โ€“ Scott and Mike K. โ€“ 352 pts.

2nd โ€“ Mike S and John Shepard โ€“ 318 pts.

3rd โ€“ Bill and Mark โ€“ 268 pts.

Mark had big bass โ€“ 21.75

Overall it was a good day as the expected T-storms never arrived and the weather was very nice for the day. Got kinda warm in the afternoon.

Letโ€™s see if there are any stories to tell:

The best of the day was that Bill hooked into something that literally yanked his rod out of his hand and as Mark said it looked like a submarine running just under the surface as it took off across the lake! Bad part was that it was his brand new rig! I would love to have had a camera under the water to watch that fish take off towing that rig.

Mark was fishing a c-rig using braided line and, as we all have done, failed to check the condition of the line. He set the hook on a fish and the line snapped! Bye – bye fish and bait! Oh yeah, later Mark was once again fishing a c-rig and set the hook on another fish. All went well and son-of-a-gun when he landed the fish it had a piece of braided line hanging out of his mouth! No Mark you canโ€™t count that as 2 fish ๐Ÿ˜Š

The most enjoyable part of the day, kinda, was watching the launch loonies trying to put their boats in the water! Some really discourteous folks for sure. Like to have a pellet gun so I could pop out the headlights of the idiots that donโ€™t know enough to turn their headlights off when backing down the ramp! โ˜น

Anyway, it was a good day and we must remember to thank our Creator for giving us such a wonderful place to enjoy a day. All came back safe and dryโ€ฆcanโ€™t beat that. See yโ€™all in April.
