Choke Canyon 2023
We had a great turnout for the Choke Canyon tourney this past weekend! We had 14 people participate, and a few last minute cancellations. As always we all had a great time and I think that is mainly because of the great pavilion at the Lodge that keeps everyone together having fun and telling lies!
The weather wasn’t bad on Thursday and a little windy on Friday.
Now Saturday was a different animal altogether! We were all smart enough to stay off the water until the lightning moved through. Then a few of us braved the wind and rain and got on the water around 9-9:30 or so. That ride to the dam was a little tough, but not too bad. Then the wind picked up and blew a steady 19mph with gusts to 40mph. A little after that it calmed down and then switched direction from east to west. About 10:30-11 it all passed and was nice the rest of the day.
Everyone caught some fish, but the big ones escaped us. Overall I think we all had some fun and a few great days! Let’s not forget the food! We all came together for a great meal on Friday, but also Thursday and Saturday. If you have any photos, please email them to Chris and myself so that we can get them online.
