About
About the 4-F Bass Club
The 4-F Bass Club was founded in 1993 in Katy, Texas by a group of fishing buddies who wanted a club that’s simply fun to fish in. That’s where our name comes from: 4-F: Friends Fishing For Fun.
From the beginning, we built the club around a few core ideas: low cost, simple rules, good companionship, no cash or expensive prizes, and—most of all—fun.
We mostly fish local lakes within about 100 miles of Houston, including Fayette County, Lake Conroe, Bastrop, and Coleto Creek. We also plan 3 “away” tournaments each year for a change of scenery.
Tournament Style
The 4-F Bass Club is Catch and Release Only. Our tournaments use paper weigh-ins (not live weigh-ins). You do not need to own a boat to fish with us—about half of our members do, and about half don’t. For tournaments, we pair up by random draw to decide who rides with who.
Membership & Dues
Annual dues are $50 for Boaters, payable in January. Non-Boaters pay $20 per draw-format tournament that they participate in.
Dues help the club provide:
- A door prize at each meeting
- Donations to local charities
- Year-end trophies
- No bass boat required
- You must be 18 or older
For full Club and Tournament details, please see the Club Bylaws.
Meetings
We meet at 7:00 PM on the 1st Wednesday of each month. If you’re looking for a bass club with a laid-back, friendly vibe, come visit a meeting—or email the President using the Contact Us form.
What the 4-F Bass Club Offers Members
- Scheduled club outings at bass lakes in the Houston area
- A low-key approach to tournaments for any experience level
- Most importantly: the chance to meet and fish with friends who share the same love of bass fishing
